Vision: To Improve the Quality of Life of All People in Woodbury County

Missouri River Historical Development, Inc. (MRHD) is the nonprofit sponsor of the license for the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City in Woodbury County.

MRHD built and will provide continued funding for the $7.6 million Sioux City Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center/Betty Strong Encounter Center. The Center is located on the riverfront and has attracted nearly 500,000 visitors since it opened in September 2002. It is free to all. This riverfront icon created a new image of pride and achievement in Woodbury County.

To date, MRHD has contributed more than $24.1 million to community organizations, the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center and the Betty Strong Encounter Center.
